Discover the spiritual heart of Nafplio on a thoughtfully curated walking tour. This immersive experience reveals the blend of Byzantine, Venetian, and Greek Orthodox influences that shaped the city’s religious identity over the centuries.

Your journey begins at the Church of Panayia, Nafplio’s oldest surviving church and a beautiful example of Byzantine architecture. A short stroll brings you to St. George, one of Nafplio’s most important churches, adorned with impressive fresco replicas by the famous painter Theophilos. You will then visit St. Nicolas, dedicated to the patron saint of sailors and deeply connected to Nafplio’s maritime past. Your path continues to the charming Fragkoklisia, also known as the “Catholic Church of the Transfiguration.” The tour concludes at St. Spiridon, a church with a powerful historical presence.
